vs. Dredge – loss
G1: trotz 3 Cantrips auf 2 Inseln sitzen geblieben, gg.
G2: Siehe da, das Deck funktioniert hin und wieder doch so, wie es soll.
G3: im letzten Extraturn werde ich noch auf null geklopft.

Das einzig “Lustige” (wenn auch während dem Spiel sehr zermürbend, da ich ein ungeduldiger Mensch bin): Spiral Tide war nicht an dem Erreichen der Extraturns schuld. :/

vs. Hive Mind – loss
G1: Ich hätte das Spiel zumindest um einen Zug hinauszögern können (Spielfehler), wäre dann aber trotzdem nicht rechtzeitig in Combo gegangen.
G2: Turn 4 kill mit zweifachem Counterbackup in der Hand…aber dann spielt Simon Hive Mind. Ich pierce, er blasted, ich force, er spielt Pakt und hat dann noch den Pakt für den Sieg. -.-

vs. Maverick – loss
G1: Mother of Runes into Thalia into Gaddock Teeg.
G2: Mother into Ethersworn Canonist (forced) into Knight of the Reliquary into Umezawa’s Jitte into Gaddock (abgesehen von den reingeboardeten Hatekarten: 3 Canonist, 2 Choke, 3 Surgical Extraction und was auch immer da noch drin war) – ich hab den Bounce, Spiral und Turnabout, finde aber kein High Tide.

vs. DDFT – loss
G1: Turn 2 Kill
G2: Turn 3 Kill, mit Combo in der Hand.

Energebnis: 1:4:0 (danke an Bye) und die schlechteste Stimmung seit dem Druck von Lingering Souls.

Runde 1: vs. Daniel mit U/W-Thopters
G1: Counterbalance wird gepierced, Comboturn resultiert im Brain Freeze Kill.

G2: Daniel macht Mulligan auf 5 und kann zwar einen Kreisel resolven, hat aber im Comboturn wieder die schwächere Hand gezogen -> Brain Freeze Kill.

Hatte eigentlich total Schiss vor dem Matchup, aber der Drawgott war mir gnädig.

Runde 2: vs. Benjamin mit Stoneblade
G1: Elspeth und Snapcaster klopfen mich erstmal auf 9, ehe ich in Combo gehe und Brain Freeze den Sieg holt.

G2: Zwei JTMS muss ich per Pierce und Force entsorgen (oder hab ich nur einen gecountert? :o), um im Zug darauf die berühmte Spiral Tide – Selbstbeschäftigungstherapie zu starten. Brain Freeze milled haargenau genug Karten (zum Glück reichen meine mathematischen Kenntnisse, um den Stormcount mit drei zu multiplizieren, auch wenn Remand ein bisschen Schwung reinbringt).

2:0 (4:0)

Runde 3: vs. Patrik mit DDFT
Wir drawen, spielen dann noch zum Spaß.

G1: Er zieht nach der ersten oder zweiten Spiral zwei Chants, weshalb ich nach dem vierten High Tide fizzle. Zwei oder drei Runden später gehe ich erneut in Combo und der Brain Freeze Kill geht durch.

G2: Patrik nimmt den Mulligan auf 5 und versucht mit Chant in Combo zu gehen, welcher aber von meinem Remand zurück auf seine Hand katapultiert wird. Er hätte trotzdem noch abgehen können, da ich keine Counter mehr hatte, aber da war er einfach zu viel Pussy und zu wenig Optimist. :P Direkt nach seinem Versuch den Weltuntergang herbeizurufen, lege ich High Tide auf den Stapel und traue mich erst bei Storm 20+ und 6-fachem Counter-Backup + Wipe Away + Cunning Wish das Brain Freeze nachzulegen, weil ich Angst vor irgendwelchen Tricks und Emrakul im Deck habe. Er hat den Emrakul im Deck, aber in Response auf den Trigger mache ich Wish auf Ravenous Trap.

Endergebnis: 2:0:1 und damit 1.

Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming creatures and how they fit into Reanimator – or why they are just useless.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope

+ Good body/3 turn clock, evasion, saves our Underground Seas from Wasteland

- Only little protection: still eats Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Maze of Ith and Karakas, not blue: cannot be pitched for Force of Will

So what does she do, that our other creatures don’t already do? That’s right, nothing. We don’t get any additional value by playing her. If you want a 3 turn clock, get Inkwell Leviathan or Iona, Shield of Emeria online, because Shroud/color lock is important and the sea monster cannot be blocked by those annoying Spirit tokens in the Stoneblade matchup.

tl;dr: This card should never be in your Legacy Reanimator build.

Sigarda, Host of Herons

+ Low manacosts for Reanimate, evasion, hexproof, protection from sac effects

- Small body/4 turn clock, not blue: cannot be pitched for Force of Will

So this one looks better, because it is well protected against the most common types of removal. The problem is, that she is still not good enough to compete with our other creatures, unless you are facing a lot of Pox and BUG decks, where protection from sacrifice effects come in handy to support Iona on black.

tl;dr: 0-1 in the Sideboard, if you are expecting lots of The Gate, Pox and BUG.

Griselbrand

+ Good body/3 turn clock, evasion, lifelink, draw engine

- No protection at all, needs to deal damage to make full use of his ability, not blue: cannot be pitched for Force of Will

This one gets compared to Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur a lot. He has a bigger body, lifelink, evasion and his draw ability can be used at will (if you have enough life).
The downside however is that he most likely needs to deal damage, to use his ability (more than once) – depending on the reanimation spell and board state. Given his lack of protection, this might not be an easy task to do and his ability can be stifled for -7 life. On a positive sidenote: you get 7 life if he gets sworded, which lets you basically draw 7 cards in response with his ability.
In addition to Jin’s ‘draw 7 for free’ the Core Augur also offers something very important: a Mind Twist (for X=infinite). This is relevant against pretty much any deck and let’s you easily reanimate other creatures to get a faster clock too.

tl;dr: Depends on the meta-game. I wouldn’t want to miss Jin as long as I am sure to face Combo and Control, while he might be a good addition against Aggro (Zoo) and Tempo (Canadian, although you have to fear Stifle)

Temporal Mastery

Temporal Mastery pretty much only makes sense in this deck if you have a creature out and need to finish the game fast by getting the beats in. Our manabase won’t allow any neat tricks with it and we have to cut something for it which decreases our chances of being fast or disrupting our enemy.
If this card is one of the first 9 cards we see, it can only be used as a Force of Will pitch, unless we can set it up with a Brainstorm.

This and the already conditional Miracle mechanic combined aren’t as good as “take an extra turn” sounds.

tl;dr: Strong card, but not that good for Reanimator.

this is due to the way mobile browsers handle touch gestures. There is a workaround, but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal since you usually don’t spam the storm count and you can change the manapool by clicking on the total amount between the + & – buttons
